The Salón Erótico de Barcelona (SEB) is Europe’s longest-running and most influential erotic fair, a four-day event that blends live shows, industry networking, education, and fetish culture under one roof. By 2016, it had already evolved from its origins as a niche film festival into a broad cultural platform that both reflects and accelerates the normalization of erotic expression in Spain and beyond.

The 2016 edition, held from 6 to 9 October at the Pavelló Olímpic de la Vall d’Hebron, marked the fair’s 25th anniversary and was described by organizers as larger and more varied than previous years. Around 200 national and international artists performed more than 2,000 live shows across ten stages, while an “Erotic Boulevard” hosted dozens of stalls selling erotic products and offering workshops, competitions, and demonstrations. Attendance exceeded 26,000 visitors over the four days, underlining the event’s mainstream appeal and its role as a key marketplace and meeting point for the sector.
The fair hosted a “Foot Fetish” area where visitors could experiment with foot-related play, including activities explicitly described as “hacer cosquillas” (giving or receiving tickles) on or with another person’s feet. This dedicated zone allowed participants to explore tickling in a consensual, structured environment, normalizing it as one variant of erotic play rather than an obscure or marginal curiosity.
The 2016 edition of the Salón Erótico de Barcelona marked a small but significant milestone for tickling (cosquillas) within the fair’s program: for the first time, the event hosted a stand explicitly and exclusively devoted to erotic tickling, organized by the international network PSM Tickling. This dedicated “Tickling Area” turned what had previously been an occasional practice inside broader fetish zones into a visible, structured attraction with its own identity, equipment, and promotional narrative.
PSM Tickling (Progetto Solletico Maschile) is a long-standing fetish network focused on tickling, with particular attention to ticklish men and foot-related play. In September 2016 the group announced that, at the Barcelona Erotic Show Apricots (the official name of the 2016 fair), it would run a stand entirely dedicated to erotic tickling, describing it as a first for the event. The official description framed the space as a safe environment in which visitors could experiment with “tickle torture,” test their limits, and discover an “hysterical way to stimulate all the erogenous zones at the same time.”
Central to the installation was a new bondage chair, presented exclusively for the Barcelona audience, designed to immobilize participants during tickling sessions. The promotional text explicitly invited people who had “always wanted to tickle torture someone but never dared” as well as those who knew they were extremely ticklish and were curious to explore their reactions in a controlled setting. The stand was open throughout the four days of the fair, from 6 to 9 October, and was promoted both by PSM and by the fair’s own communication channels, which highlighted it as a new and appealing exhibitor focused on the tickling fetish.

In another tickling session (presumably also held at the Salón Erotico de Barcelona) organized by the PSM, a young woman wearing red nylon stockings is restrained in a pillory and tickled with hands placed under her feet. The woman laughs heartily and wriggles about, while it is explained that tickling is a very common fetish, that it can be used as foreplay, and that tickling releases endorphins, the “happiness hormone.”
Other Spanish tickling events
The previous year, organizers Arola Poch and Sergy Martín had already created the “Rincón Foot Fetish” inside the Salón Erótico, a space explicitly designed for foot fetishists to play, relax, and explore their desires in a consensual, semi-public environment. That 2015 corner included, among other activities, a specific “zona de cosquillas” where visitors could engage in tickling play, often linked to feet and sometimes involving immobilization devices and specialized instruments.
Arola Poch’s later account of discovering tickling fetishism describes how, during the 2015 fair, a participant arrived at the foot fetish corner with foot stocks and an “arsenal of instruments for making tickles,” proposing sessions that combined restraint and tickling. Although she initially declined, the memory of the laughter and excitement she witnessed stayed with her, and a few months later she actively requested a tickling session herself, experiencing firsthand the mix of control, helplessness, and intense physical sensation that characterizes the practice. Her narrative emphasizes the psychological dimension of tickling—control and domination, the thrill of immobility, the involuntary laughter—as well as the physiological response, including the release of endorphins and a post-session state of relaxation comparable, in her words, to the afterglow of an orgasm.
