Jonathan Steele is an Italian comic book series primarily created by Federico Memola (writer) and Teresa Marzia (illustrator). The series was first published by Sergio Bonelli Editore from April 1999 to July 2004, totaling 64 issues, and later continued by Star Comics, which relaunched it with a new series starting in 2004 and running until 2009. Since 2012, new graphic novels of Jonathan Steele have been published by Kappalab.
The story is set in a near future (around 2020) where many people have mutated and obtained magical powers. Jonathan Steele is a private detective navigating this world full of magic, mystery, and adventure, with the series blending elements of fantasy, science fiction, horror, and espionage.
The second series explores a world where magic has always existed, featuring Jonathan as a former thief now working with an agency run by two powerful magical women, Jasmine Rashad and Myriam Leclair.
The comics include scenes that feature nudity, in particular in the portrayal of Myriam and other characters. Nudity in Jonathan Steele is presented within the narrative context, contributing to character development, atmosphere, and sometimes the sensual tone of the story rather than gratuitous exhibition.

Myriam Leclair
Myriam Leclair is a freelance photographer of Canadian origin who possesses magical powers granted by the appearance of the Fairy Queen.
Myriam is an extremely comely and shapely woman who in virtually every issue of the series remains naked for more or less a long time, as well as being shown bathing, dressing, or making love.
Frequent nudity is itself part of the plot since Myriam, after transforming into her fairy form, returns to normal by losing all her clothes. Myriam’s huge breasts are frequently noticed by characters such as Jonathan and Jasmine and are even the subject of gags (e.g., you cannot find clothes big enough to cover them).
Myriam’s sensuality (made even more blatant in the second series) is a characteristic and foundational element of Jonathan Steele, as the character has been the subject of various tributes and promotional activities (e.g., “Myriam Week”) promoted by the author to publicize the additional episodes made.
Jasmine Rashad
Jasmine Rashad is a model passionate about magic with a mixed Pakistani and German background. She is also skilled in magic and enchantments, taught by an elderly aunt who gifted her a spellbook. Jasmine’s appearance is inspired by the Canadian model Yasmeen Ghauri
A charming and competent woman, she often has a pragmatic sense of situation that the scatterbrained and impetuous Myriam does not. Despite their character differences and the fact that they both aim for Jonathan, the two become good friends.
