Asterix is a renowned French comic book series created by writer René Goscinny and artist Albert Uderzo, debuting in 1959 in the magazine Pilote. Set in 50 BCE during Roman occupation of Gaul, it centers on a small village of indomitable Gauls who resist invaders using a magic potion brewed by their druid Getafix, granting superhuman strength.
