Distressed Daisy tickling

1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

I’m Distressed Daisy. I only started three years ago – so I am very much still learning. I try to base my art on real experiences I’ve had in the UK scene, or with partners!

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I use Clip Paint Studio, and a lot of references from photos of me in tickle scenes. A lot of the artists that inspired me help me draw today – my partner for two years, Snailyn, played a huge part in that.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

I was never an artist growing up. One day, while browsing art, I had a sudden obsession with the idea. After many, many hours of practice, I was able to draw something coherent.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

I love the anticipation before the tickles. The lee helplessly stuck, unable to prevent their fate… It’s delicious.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

Simply the scenario. I like how scenes play out, the bondage they choose to employ and the interesting positions they find themselves in.

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?

Drawings have so much of the artist in them. Their expressions, brush strength – hell, even the dialogue they choose. I think it’s so fun seeing what each person comes up with.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

The desperation. To me, tickling is similar to pain, or impact play – just without the pain. It’s an uncomfortable; hell – almost painful experience. People like being tortured!

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

Whatever my recent one is. I feel that I improve with each piece.

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

I want to animate at some point, but for now, my goal is only to improve in every way that I can.

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

AI art is generally sourced in a very bad way. Effectively art theft. I don’t blame people who dabble in it, but the methods companies use to scrape peoples hard work from the internet, only to benefit and profit from it, is ruinous for the community at large.
