1)Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?
Hey, I’m Halfanswer. I’m a mexican artist, I wouldn’t say I’m a beginner, but I have just started to make tickling art. I’ve drawn for a couple of years, when in high school but somewhere between one to two years ago I started to do tickling related art. I had just gotten my IPad and an apple pencil and I drew all night a Catwoman picture of her showing her feet and being tickled, same for a Harley Quinn one. I posted them to Deviantart and that’s where it started. That account is gone now but I can try to find the pics if you want.
Leggi tutto: Tickle artists #150: interview with HalfAnswer2)What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?
I’m not really a technical artist, never got an art education and have just worked with what I got. Suppose if there is a pose I’m struggling with getting and there’s not a good reference I just pose my action figures in it and my drawing comes to life.
A bunch of artists inspired me, first of all TK-GEEK, he does some great tickling art and made many comic related characters way back when I was still a teen discovering this side of the internet, I’ve started to work with him recently so that’s a pretty good full circle moment. Erimoto is another great artist, she has a different style now but a couple of years back, she had a different username and did incredible art of the women of the MCU, she had amazing likeness for actresses. Those two were always my favourites but still, there’s many more like BadPierrot, DrRandomArt, Revealyoursins, wtffeather and many more but the list would go on indefinitely.
3)How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?
The passion for drawing I was born with. Always liked to draw faces and superheroes. The tickle fetish I have since I can remember. When I first got access to the internet as a very young kid I looked up something like Batgirl tickling on YT. I’m pretty sure I stumbled upon a couple of tickling porn videos, not explicit, but yeah. My tickling/foot fetish has followed me since I was a kid.

4)What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?
I like mainly doing feet tickling scenarios in stocks. The reason is because they’re hot and they’re easy, no crazy poses and you can put whatever character you imagine in them, as long as you get the likeness and the laughing expression right!
5)What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?
Hmmm, well I thing the biggest part is the laughing, once you get that down you have half the job done. Then maybe some scrunching toes and a couple of tears convey the emotion of the ticklee well. Much of my art doesn’t actually include a tickler now that I think about it. It’s just mostly machinery doing the work.
6)Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?

Illustrations and art are just your imagination coming to life. While I do enjoy seeing real life pics or videos it just isn’t the same. I don’t want to see a random girl who isn’t even that ticklish when tickled, I want to see the hot character of a TV show I’m watching, and since there is no such tickling scene I can just draw it and make the character in whatever fantasy I’m having.
7)In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?
I think there’s too much variety in the wants and needs of the tickling community for me to answer the question in a sentence. I think it’s up to each of us what makes it interesting. For me, the main factor is just imagining how they would break and how I would achieve it. What they laugh sounds like, what they’re worst spots are and such things.
8)What are your works of which you are most proud?
Many of my best works I keep private, commissioners many times ask for things they ask me not to post and that’s that. I wouldn’t say I’m proud of any of my works as I’m not the artist I want to be right now, but I sure do see improvement in every single piece I make. And I hope my watchers see it too.

9)Do you have any particular artistic goal?
Honestly, just to be a well known artist in the community. Someone who people want to see more of.
10)Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?
I don’t like AI in any way for art, I think it misses the point, it has a soulless style. I can see it used for references and what not but a pic done a hundred percent in AI? Not my thing and certainly not many people’s as it has a very specific style that it can’t seem to leave and there’s even options to toggle AI “art” in certain pages such as Rule34. In the end it floods the page and just isn’t good enough at this moment for people to even like it, or that I think is the case. If it started recreating specific artstyles then our community would be doomed.
