1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?
Leggi tutto: Tickle artists #154: interview with DesenhoExperimentI’m DesenhoExperiment, my name is Juan Fraga Duarte, I am a digital artist from Brazil, and, like most artists, I started drawings as a child, learning and developing new skills as time goes by. Since most of this interview focuses on tickling art, I should mention that, while I do create tickling art, I enjoy drawing many types of artwork, and my main focus is character concepts, it just happens that barefoot pretty women are my favorite concepts.
2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?
My art style is kind of like a Frankenstein’s monster, made up of various techniques I learned by copying something I like or through materials such as manga drawing tutorials and comic book guides, I know learning manga before knowing the basics was probably not a good idea, but I was a kid back them who just wanted to draw what I liked and to this day it is kinda like how this works for me. I use photoshop for my digital drawings, and for my animations I use pencil2D for frame to frame and Dragon bones for rigging.
3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?
Honestly, it was something I enjoyed doing as a child and I simply never “gave up” that habit like other people do when they get older. As for tickling art…Well, it was a taste I developed during my teenage years, browsing Deviantart. Heck, the first art I ever saw on this site was that of Makoto from Street Fighter getting tickled.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?
I tend to focus on foot tickling when it comes to this type of art, this is mostly because, I won’t lie, I like drawing barefoot female characters, for example, my most recurring OC, Rekha, has gone to various changes of concept, but she remained barefoot in all these changes. I also like to experiment with different ideas, from being tickled to a naga, to a tickling machine and, most recently, an MMA match turned into a tickle fight.
5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?
I like to imagine different scenarios where a character might end up being tickled, such as being defeated on a battle or captured in some way. It all revolves around the implicit narrative that each work of art tells. I particularly enjoy making tickle animations, trying to figure out how a character would react to them—whether they would try to resist and endure it, or if they would immediately give in, and how much they would wiggle.
6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real life?
Let me answer that question with another question: do high-tech tickling machines exist in the real world? Or monsters with multiple arms or tentacles that use their extra appendages just to tickle pretty girls? I see some “intense” tickling scenarios that would be totally illegal in real life. Drawings can offer things that are impossible, or at least very impractical to replicate in real life, it is kinda the same reasons people like fantasy and sci-fi stuff.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?
I think there is a certain playfullness to the idea of tickle torture, it is, most of the time, not as dark or brutal as other forms of torture and some people find the idea of tickling or, in some cased, being tickled by a attractive person to be quite a thrilling fantasy.
8) What are your works of which you are most proud?
When it comes to tickling illustrations, what I’m most proud of are my animations. Looking at a still image is good, but seeing a character move and squirm while being tickled is much better.

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?
Currently I want to create a video game and somehow insert a tickling scene into it, maybe a grappling enemy or a mini game, something like that.
10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?
I won’t lie, AI can create visually stunning images and generate detailed art in seconds, something that would take a person hours or even days to do. But at the same time, its images tend to be somewhat generic, with fairly similar artistic styles and awkward elements that don’t mesh that well. Images created by artists still hold the advantage in my ways due to having many styles and drawing skills developed by years of training and experimentation that makes their art different from the art created by another artist. What I’m saying is that AI can create visually appealing things, but it still can’t add anything significantly different from what we already have.
