Citrus+ manga is the sequel to the original Citrus manga series, continuing the romantic story of the two main characters, Yuzu and Mei Aihara, who are stepsisters and high school students.
The original Citrus manga follows Yuzu Aihara, a fashionable, spontaneous girl who moves to a new conservative all-girls school after her mother’s remarriage. There she clashes with Mei Aihara, the cold and strict student council president, who turns out to be her new stepsister. Despite their initial conflicts, Yuzu gradually develops romantic feelings for Mei.
Citrus+ picks up after the events of the original series, specifically after Yuzu proposes to Mei, focusing on their life together as a couple while still in school.
The manga shows Yuzu and Mei publicly dating, dealing with the challenges that arise from being a couple in their social and family circles. It explores their relationship growth, more slice-of-life moments, and deeper character development, including attention to side characters like Matsuri. The story covers the period leading up to their wedding and how they work through personal and external conflicts, rekindling and strengthening their bond. Citrus+ is ongoing and captures the emotional and everyday experiences of the couple as they prepare for their future together.
