Sydney Meyer is a Canadian actress born on September 15, 1995, in London, Ontario. Initially, she did not intend to pursue acting, coming from a family with expectations in science or law, but a school audition revealed her passion for performance.

She attended Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts as a child and later transferred to the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto at age 15. Meyer further honed her craft with summer programs at Stratford Shakespeare School, a brief stint with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and training at both the New York Film Academy and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.
Meyer began her professional acting career at 18, starting with guest roles in Canadian television series such as Dangerous Persuasions, Degrassi: The Next Generation, Saving Hope, The Expanse, Transplant, and The Good Doctor. Her film debut came with the role of Grace in the 2018 Canadian sci-fi horror film Level 16.
Her breakthrough came in 2019 with a recurring role as Helen Blackthorn in the supernatural drama Shadowhunters and as Sophia Giles in the suspense series Departure. The same year, she landed a main role as Ava O’Malley in the Netflix sci-fi horror series V Wars. In 2020, Meyer played Anna Delaney in the Netflix teen drama Grand Army and starred in television thrillers such as Remember Me, Mommy? and Pretty Cheaters, Deadly Lies.
In 2021, Meyer appeared as Liv Vogel in the fourth season of the anthology horror series Slasher: Flesh & Blood and as Nicole in the FX on Hulu adaptation of Y: The Last Man. She continued to expand her television presence with roles in Murdoch Mysteries and The Good Doctor. In 2023, she joined the cast of the sci-fi psychological thriller series Beacon 23 as Grisha.
Meyer is married to fellow Canadian actor Alex Ozerov, with whom she appeared in Slasher: Flesh & Blood. Her career is marked by a steady progression from guest roles to significant recurring and main roles in both Canadian and international productions, particularly in the genres of science fiction, horror, and drama.
