Tickling Artist #29: Interview with Ikrein

1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

Hi, I’m Ikrein. I’m not very verbose and I’m often too lazy to draw,

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I use Photoshop + sometimes I circle the lines in Sketchbook Pro. Of my favorite artists, I can single out LOZ, zombiepwner218, Ashida Vinci.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

I have been drawing since childhood, graduated from art college with a degree in artist-teacher. Interest in tickling sometimes manifested itself in childhood, but finally tickling interested me at a more conscious age

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

I try to draw plot pictures, situations that could happen in a particular work

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

All at once. I try to portray a variety of situations

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real scenes?

Illustrations give a lot of imagination and more image possibilities. Similarly, movies can never replace books

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

I think interaction with a “partner” + a strong exchange of emotions

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

Doki Doki Literature Club- Monika tickle. The most difficult job of the last. To do this, I had to watch the passage of the game a couple of times

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

At the moment I am drawing a small comic book on the “Dead by Daylight” universe in order to check if I will pull a longer story. Next in the plans is an author’s comic for several chapters

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

AI this is a very difficult topic. But despite all its advantages, it will never be able to replace a hand drawing.
