Tickling Artists #51: Interview with Lockrt

1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

Hello everyone, I’m Lock1305, but also can be called Lock. I draw mainly pictures about tickling, bdsm in SFW versions for my DeviantArt, Pixiv, my Discord Server and Twitter account, but also do NSFW art of tickling, bdsm and other bedroom activities 😉 on my Patreon account. Also all of my pictures come with a short stories which explain how it actually came to the scene in the picture and how sometimes how it goes on after them.

I started with drawing many arts with characters from anime and games, but also created my own characters with different personalites, jobs, hobbies and they live in their own world. That I focus on drawing too, but of course anime and game characters are also still involved in my works nowadays.

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

For my drawings I use the free app Krita. It offers many different tools, like different types of pencils to draw, different effects to add, also customize the pencils and so on.

Personally I’d say I have my own style, since nowhere else I found anything similar to my style. It might not be the best, but it’s “unique” in my way. But it’s supposed to be an anime style.

Personally I don’t have a favorite artist, because everyone I watch does great work with it’s ups and downs. From Toermentor, Caroos-Dungeon, grippedchimp… they all do perfect work. But I guess it was WooouTK who actually inspired me to really start with what I draw. WooouTK started with a series of renders that really looked great and the devices were just perfect. I just felt like… yes, I will start with that art too. And here I am today. ^^

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

I think it was only partly born into me. Back in my schooldays, I was very good at drawing liveless objects. I always struggle with living creatures like humans or animals because I didn’t get the proportions right. Nowadays I still have this issue, but I have improved with my drawings in the last time. I’m still not where I want to be, but I’m on a good path.

And my passion for tickling came in my childhood too from a very weird source. I had a tv-show, where a magician was doing tricks but also revealed how it worked in the end. When the assistants were tested that they were restrained, he tickled their feet to see that they can’t get out. It somehow triggered something in me. The next day I was looking on the web for tickling and found many things on youtube. And I guess from that one the passion for tickling grew. Not the passion for getting tickled, but the passion for tickling others and mostly (or only) women.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

I honestly have 2 answers to this, because one is more SFW and the other NSFW, depending on the platform I upload things.

I really like to draw when a woman is restrained, mostly wearing a bikini or something similar that shows much skin, all her toes tied and they get tickled by any tool, no matter what. (That is SFW).

The NSFW is also involving a women, but she wouldn’t wear anything at all and her private areas are getting tickled, with feathers, tongues, fingers… doesn’t matter.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

A very good question actually. I’d say it is very far spread and includes all of your mentioned examples. But mostly I want to show the relation between the ler and the lee. Sometimes the lee wants to get tickled by what disappoints the ler, Sometimes the lee is laughing like mad what pleases the ler. But sometimes I also like to show how helpless the lees can be for the pleasure of themselves and for the ler they like. For example: I have 2 OC’s called Mandy Swann and Elizabeth Woodler, two girls who have known each other for quite some time. Mandy absolutely loves it to get tied up and tickled and Elizabeth loves to tickle her. Not only the laughter and helplessness I try to show, but also how Mandy likes to get tickled by Elizabeth and how Elizabeth loves to tickle Mandy. Only as an example what I mean (sorry, but to express myself is sometimes difficult, and examples help me).

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real scenes?

Creativity, I think. A drawn illustration represents the thoughts and ideas of the artist in every possible way and is not chained to any rules of physics or reality itself. You can let the creativity flow and have the wildest ideas come true. Also it looks more like everything fits together and not so much fake.

Example: Feathers with magical powder tickling a stone age woman in a contraption that is impossible to build by itself, next to it a giant octopus that is dressed as an english man with head and glasses tickling the whole team from FairyTail.

Possible to make as an illustration/Drawing and everything looks good together. As a photo itself is impossible and also with Photoshop it only looks… sorry to say, it looks bad if not everything works together good.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

A question I ask myself very often and I can’t give a straight answer to it, because there are too many possible things. It can be the joy between two partners who want to have some fun and like to hear the other one laughing. It can be the feeling of dominance of the restrained one and the show of force without showing violence. It can be the feeling of helplessness from the restrained one for once so when they don’t want to have control for once. It can be the pleasure from the touches they get or give (depending if ler or lee). It can be the joy to spice up their private lives too and maybe get extra sensation. Or it can be simply that the one who looks at the picture images himself in the scenery more easily, no matter who, either the ler, lee or as a watcher.

But in the end i guess everything of the mentioned things work for certain people. Everyone is different and has different intentions why he/she does it.

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

An impossible question actually XD. I can’t say I’m most proud of any of the pictures I create. I’m more proud of the gallery ideas I make and 2 in particular.

Firstly the “Bikini contest”. A gallery where I put up votes on my platforms with 6 girls from an anime/game/… whatever. They show off their body, the viewers vote for who they like most and the least 3 girls get to tickle the top 3 ones. And the first place gets a separate NSFW tickle picture. That’s the idea I like most.

And Secondly the “Tickle Dungeon”, a dungeon that is run by 2 of my OC’s but their friends help. Every user can suggest a character they want to see in the dungeon.

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

I guess I have no goals at all. I just want to try to improve my skills and to please everyone who is willing who follows me on my platforms and also who supports me on Patreon.

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

I honestly don’t think that AI will ever reach what makes the drawings special. An artist puts much time in his works and can say “I did a good job” to it. He earned this feeling of joy and happiness in the end. An AI might produce it quickly and also look good even nowadays, but it is programmed and taught by the ideas of others. There is no creativity behind it, also not from the person who wrote what the idea should do for him. Also… art is creativity from the mind. And I don’t think AI has a mind, it only repeats or calculates answers based on programmed options.

In the end, I guess AI will make an impact in the scene but not for too long. Real artists who put time and heart in their works like me, Caro, WooouTK, grippedchimp, and all the others I can’t mention here… we will prevail.
