1) Do you want to tell us something about yourself and your art?

Hello-jello! I’m Vogelus aka Miss Vogue Lust! I’m not a professional artist, but I love tickling and spreading joy to the world! I hope to assist in gifting the tickle community with the kind of content they love and also introduce characters that got no, or only rare tickly love so far.

2) What techniques do you use to draw? Do you have a favorite artist that inspires you?

I use both traditional art techniques with pen and paper, but currently I’m almost working only digitally. It’s just so convenient, you have so many tools and don’t waste any paper, nor space haha. For my drawings I mainly stick to a mixture between anime and western cartoon style since the characters I draw are mostly from thes genres.

I have many favorite artists, like Caroo, ProRaindancer, pawfeather and Pirata3 which I’ve studied and in general inspired me to try drawing tickle-scenes. However my biggest influence was the phenomenal Bad Pierrot aka Umojar. Many people tell me my art style looks very similar to his and every time I hear that my heart is melting. He’s one of my biggest role models and my main motivation to draw in general.

3) How much was the passion for drawing born in you? And the one for the tickle?

I’ve been drawing since I was a child, but only recently decided to pick up the pen again. As I’ve said before: Since the day I saw Bad Pierrot’s art for the first time I’ve tried furiously to acquire at least a little bit of his skill and draw beautiful illustrations like him. I’ve also loved tickling for as long as I can think it’s just a part of me that I wouldn’t want to miss hihi.

4) What are the tickling scenarios that you prefer to draw?

Honestly I love almost every scenario. I love both completely unbound, soft and elegant tickles as well as fully immobilized victims having every inch of their bodies tested. I stick mainly to F/F scenarios, but everything’s possible with me ahahaha! I’m a very moody person so let’s see what might pop up in the future.

5) What are the aspects of tickling that you intend to represent with your art? Example: the laughing, the wriggling, the relationship between tickler and ticklee?

Tickling is such an expressive action that I try to incorporate all of its aspects and show the viewer the elegance, the joy, but also the tension and despair that comes with being tickled. Also the tickler is usually very important for me. I have to show how much the ler is enjoying his craft up to the point of slight sadism even. So yeah, the relationship between ler and lee can be the most crucial thing for me. Additionally I really love to show the lees in their most desperate state right when their weak spots are found out and explored. Everybody is ticklish somewhere and everybody tries to hide that weak point. The emotions that are freed when those particular areas are uncovered are what I really want to show in my drawings.

6) Online there are countless photos and videos of tickling sessions. In your opinion, what do illustrations offer more than images of real scenes?

Why do we love fictional work in the first place? It’s more magical, everything’s possible and every angle can be shown in a way that’s simply impossible with real illustrations. Expressions can be amplified, colors change however we want, all kinds of magic and crazy tools can be invented and we can see our favorite characters in the strangest scenarios. Also so much motion can be expressed through art. I find most real pictures to appear like they’re stuck in the moment, but art breathes and talks all the time.

7) In your opinion, what makes tickling so interesting for fans of this phenomenon?

I think tickling is one of the most fun and versatile ways of establishing connections, or physical contact. It can be fun, or cruel, or loving, or everything all at once. When you’re tickled, or tickle someone there are these special sensations rushing through your nerves: Tension, discomfort, but at the same time joy, intimacy and excitement. You don’t know what happens next, your comfort zone is tested, but at the same time you can’t do anything, but smile about it. I understand everybody who loves that hihi!

8) What are your works of which you are most proud?

I still don’t have that many at this point in time, but that’s my secret: I love all of them. I simply can’t post a drawing that I’m not proud of. Every single one of them has a special place in my heart, especially those made for other people’s requests.

9) Do you have any particular artistic goals for the future?

Oof that’s a good question, I don’t know exactly. My art isn’t my main job, but I’d definitely love to draw more and create more drawings that people will hopefully like as well! In due time I want to experiment with a commission system a bit, but ultimately as long as me and my community are happy that’s all that I want.

10) Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations?

Do you think AIs will end up enriching or impoverishing the art of tickling representations? No, at least not for me. AI art may be really great for technical drawing, but it can’t recreate those feelings and this vividness of real tickle-art. Art created by an AI looks most of the time so lifeless and boring and sometimes even scary. However in the end, if it facilitates drawing references for artists it may enrich the tickle community indirectly, so I won’t dismiss it completely!
